Weekly Project: Choose Your Own Adventure

For this final Weekly Project, you may expand upon or re-do one of the following weekly assignments: Write an Origin Myth, Drawing Machines, or Other. The options:

Write an Origin Myth (link to original assignment)

Follow the original assignment directions, with the following changes:

You may write an entirely new origin myth, or a variation on your previous myth. In this case your new myth should be 500-750 words long, total. (Or you may continue working on the myth you wrote for the previous assignment in October, but you must make sure your newer version is at least +300 words longer than your previous effort.)

Finally, write a reflection of at least 300 words (no limit) explaining how some element of your learning in the class influenced your origin myth, and how your ideas about technology, human nature, and myth have changed over the past ten weeks.

Drawing Machines (link to original assignment)

Make an entirely new drawing machine and/or a significantly more detailed drawing or set of drawings using your existing machine. Upload at least three images you made with your machine, and at least one image of your machine.

Finally, write a reflection of at least 350 words (no limit) explaining how some element of your learning in the class influenced your machine or your thinking about art and technology.

Other: If you have an idea on how to expand or reprise another assignment (Elaboration on Tools and Affordances, Have an Experience, or Get Distracted), please contact your TA by December 5 with a proposal outlining the format, image count, or word count.
