Silent Reading Parties

Why do people gather to read silently? Find out through one of the following organizations:
- Silent Book Club: Free and at rotating locations.
The Silent Book Club (est. 2015) now has dozens of local chapters all across the nation gathering people who are interested in reading silently together. It is free to join and meet, and most meetings are at all-ages locations (though check the venue info to be sure). Check out a few of the Seattle Chapters below:

Tickets are $10-25 per person, and there is a food/drink minimum, so this could be quite spendy. Caveat emptor.
For 25 field trip points, attend one of these sessions in-person or on Zoom (but it must be an official meeting of one of these groups). Post a selfie or (or a Zoom screenshot) and a report (200ish words) reflecting on your experience in relation to something (anything) you have learned in the class. For 15 field trip points, you may host your own Silent Reading Party with your Learning Group. (You may also do it with another group of people which includes at least two other students from this class). You may host your reading party on Zoom or in person, and you must write a report that meets the above criteria.
