How can technology foster the natural? Visit the UW Department of Biology’s Greenhouse during its “Open Hours”:

Reflect on the relationship between “nature,” “culture,” and horticulture. What does a greenhouse accomplish? What distinguishes the environment inside greenhouse from the “outside?” What counts as a “natural” or a “technologically mediated” environment–what is natural about the inside, and technological about the wider world?

For 20 points extra credit, upload a selfie from the greenhouse and a 200-ish word reflection on your visit in relation to something we’ve discussed in class.
